Siren Songs
About
A haunting, audio-visual depiction of the all-too-real climate apocalypse brought on by human’s actions.
Siren Songs is a new project that explores humankind’s relationship with nature, our water systems, and climate change. The project consists of newly-composed art song cycles for treble voice and piano by four up-and-coming women, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ composers . Each piece toys with portrayals of “sirens” (e.g.: an unnamed voice calling out to her audience, with a message that is equal parts inviting as well as alarming– the water is rising, and nature is dying).
